The Winter Solstice is the darkest day of the year and the beginning of the cold winter season ahead. Yet it is also the start of the days getting longer, imbuing more sunlight and warmth into our lives. It is this balance of darkness and welcoming light that we embrace with the changing of the seasons on December 21.
During this 90 minute special event, Cara will lead you through a series of gentle and supported restorative poses. After settling into a supported, extended savasana, you will be guided through a yoga nidra meditation designed to nurture the mind, body and soul.
Yoga Nidra is an incredibly healing practice in which you hover in the space between awake and asleep, allowing the body to be highly relaxed while the mind is tranquil but alert. Some of the benefits of Yoga Nidra include deep relaxation of mind and body that reduce stress levels, enhanced coping abilities with depression and anxiety, and improvement of concentration and memory.
